Althams Travel

The Brief

Althams Travel is an independent travel agent established in 1874. This family run business has grown into a large network of 31 holiday shops across Lancashire and Yorkshire. Althams Travel became one of our first clients in 1986. Since then, we have updated their staff uniform every alternate year. Their latest brief to Abacus Careerwear was to provide them with a look that strengthens their corporate branding further.

The Solution

To rise to the branding challenge, we have designed their 2004 blue and gold uniform to include an exclusive printed blouse for Althams Travel. The crepe de chine blouse is non-crease and drip-dry for ease of maintenance, and the open-neck styling ensures that there is one consistent look for all employees. It is worn beneath a navy pinstripe suit: a hip-length jacket with darts to the front and no reveres, providing a flattering outline, and a slim-line skirt. For the first time we will also supply coordinating uniforms for male staff.

The suit fabric is a combination of Wool, Polyester & Lycra. The Wool provides comfort for the wearer, Polyester is ideal for maintenance and durability, while the Lycra adds an element of stretch to the fabric. This design was chosen as the optimum style to suit all wearer age groups.
